Loving lace

Hi ladies :)

Guess what... I'm am yet again a VERY lucky girl! Earlier Mum gave almost all her vintage lace collection to me to make goodies for the craft fair and there are some absolutely beautiful designs. I have made one thing, a pomander that you can see above. Mum always intended to make this as the piece itself was square but with a circle of fine silk in the middle and stunning lace all around the outside. I think it looks very Victorian. It's not what I would choose but the lace is gorgeous and I hope that someone will love it... took about 2 hours to make and was really fiddly with all the beads!

This post is more pictures than words but sometimes they are what you need aren't they? I just love the monograms and detail, some very talented people spent a lot of time on these. If you click on them to enlarge hopefully they will show up better.

Also as I'd seen a wire cake stand on two blogs this week (you know who you are!) I decided I HAD to have one so while Mum had my girls we took a trip to Homebase and got one for £5.99. Isn't it scrummy? It will be perfect for display... I think I might have to get another after payday ;) You can also have a sneak preview of more of my latest makes... mini hearts with buttons on and bigger hanging ones.

Hope you're all having a great weekend and thanks again for all your wonderful words of encouragement, lots of love me xxxxxxxxxxxx

The stand looks perfect - really professional. And all that lace!!! You are so lucky, have lots of fun with it. The pomander is beautiful, it can be tricky working with antique lace so you've done really well, it looks so professional!

Totally forgot to say - we love prodigy too, although haven't heard their latest offering yet. We lived in Nottingham before the kids were born and Rock City was our weekend haunt!

That very same stand is what I used to display my lavender hearts for the last fair I did. Very good price isn't it? I looked elsewhere and they go for £15-£20 - one day I spotted that one in homebase and snapped it up! You have been busy! I hope it goes well for you (fingers and tos crossed), I've done a couple and they've been really disappointing (not even made the stall fee back). People just don't seem to want to part with their cash these days!

I have that cakestand, it's so pretty and so reasonably priced. Mine has fruit in it at the moment. Yours looks great!!
Lovely lacey bits, i wish my mum had kept hers. I remember her chucking loads of bit's out when IKEA started. Do you remember the 'chuck out your chintz'? Well my mum chucked out all hers, i must admit i agreed at the time. Now i regret it though! x

Good for mum!!! She's been great!!! that lace is absolutely beautiful, I want some!!! Have you thought about setting up an online shop, after the fair!! Your hearts, and everything you've done is gorgeous!! When is the fair, and where is it?? I'd love to see you, and your stall(and buy, of course!). If that isn't possible, then I could do it on line.
Love the Homebase cakestand, will have to pay my nearest one a visit, after all it is payday next week!

Take care hun!!!
